In 2005, the Northfield Arts Group organized the first annual ARTSfest. As a way to expand their successful Studio Tours to a larger audience and to bring the diverse group of Northfield area artist together in one place, the group debuted this all-day summer event at the Green Trees Gallery in their expansive parking lot. In the early stages of design, the organizing committees decided it should be "more than just the visual arts." They set about to include musical acts and invite local food vendors.

With each consecutive year, the number of artists and artisans grew and included more participants from neighboring states. (By year two, the musical acts had expanded to play the whole day --from 10am to 4pm. The performers involved enjoyed this event so, the number of acts has not increased --nor the line-up changed-- since that date).

Green Trees Gallery has continued to be the annual location of this event. The gallery has been most supportive of all the artists, vendors and musicians participating.

With ARTSfest 4 approaching, this annual celebration of the arts is on it's way to becoming one of the Pioneer Valley's biggest events!
